133. Coffee Talk Series: An Invitation to Seek Truth
Ever wish you could grab coffee with a friend and dive into those big faith questions that most of us hesitate to ask? That's exactly what the new "Coffee Talk" series is all about. This intimate, judgment-free space explores Christianity's foundational questions—perfect for those quiet morning moments with your Bible and a warm drink.
We're breaking down eight essential topics that shape not just what we believe, but how we live. From exploring God's true character and Jesus' identity to addressing controversial subjects like Mary's role, praying to saints, and the reality of spiritual warfare, we're tackling questions many churches hesitate to discuss. Each episode examines what Scripture actually says, stripping away assumptions and traditions to seek biblical truth.
Whether you've walked with God for decades or you're just spiritually curious, these short 10-15 minute episodes fit perfectly into your morning routine or commute. As your host, I don't claim to have all the answers—that's the beautiful invitation of faith. God welcomes our questions and promises that when we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him. Subscribe now and join our first conversation next week as we ask: "Who is God?" Let's journey together toward deeper understanding, authentic faith, and a more personal relationship with our Creator. Share this series with someone who might need these conversations too!

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Radiant Mission Podcast. I'm your host, rebecca, and I am so excited to kick off a brand new series called Coffee Talk or Tea Talk, or, if you are like my husband and you're from New York or the Northeast, wolfie Talk. I actually have my tea here, since it is the nighttime when I'm recording. But I would say, for most of you listening, it's probably more about those quiet moments in the morning with just you, your Bible and maybe a warm cup of coffee or tea as a time to reflect. So that is the heart behind this series. Think of this series like sitting down with a friend for an honest conversation no pressure, no judgment, just a chance to think deeper about things that really matter. This series is really designed to get us thinking, to encourage us and, ultimately, to point us back to the word of God Yahweh. The topics that we're going to be covering are foundational, so these are the kinds of questions that shape not only what we believe but how we live. Let's talk a little bit about what the series is about. Over the next eight episodes unless it expands we're going to be tackling some big questions, questions that, honestly, I don't claim to have all of the answers to. But that's really the beauty of faith, right? God invites us to seek him, to wrestle with truth and to grow in our understanding. So my goal is really to spark curiosity and to encourage you to dive into scripture and hopefully, through this series, this helps to strengthen your walk with the Lord. I know it's going to strengthen mine as I'm preparing for these episodes and discussing these topics. So let's take a closer look at some of the things we're going to be discussing in this series. This is what I have planned so far.
Speaker 1:Who is God? This is the ultimate question, right? Who is God? What is his character? Some people see him as a loving father, while others picture him as this distant judge. But what does the Bible actually say? In the episode on who is God, we're going to explore God's nature, his holiness, his justice, mercy, love and why knowing him personally changes everything. Next, we're going to dive into who is Jesus or Yeshua. Jesus is the most influential figure in history, but who is he really? Some say he was just a good teacher, others called him a prophet, but the Bible tells us that he is the Son of God, the Messiah, the only way to salvation. So we'll break down why Jesus isn't just another religious figure but the very foundation of our faith.
Speaker 1:Next, after Jesus, we're going to talk about Mary and Mary's role in Christianity and how to honor Mary without worshiping her. Mary, of course, is the mother of Jesus. There are multiple Marys mentioned in the Bible but she is an important figure in scripture and in some traditions she's been elevated to the level of near worship, and so we want to talk about what does the Bible say about Mary's role and how should Christians view her? We'll discuss the balance between honoring her and ensuring that our worship belongs to God alone. Of course. That then rolls us into a continued conversation on prayer and praying to saints. Is it biblical or unbiblical? This is a question I know that many Christians wrestle with. Some believe that praying to saints helps them intercede for us, and others see it as unbiblical. So in the episode on praying to saints, we will examine what the scripture says about prayer, who we should be praying to, and whether the idea of praying to saints aligns with God's word.
Speaker 1:Next up, the truth about Satan a myth or a real enemy? A lot of people see Satan as a fictional character, like this cartoonish figure with horns and a pitchfork, but the Bible describes him very differently. He's the real enemy, a deceiver, the father of lies, and in the episode on Satan we'll talk about who he is, his role in the world and why understanding his tactics is crucial for spiritual warfare. And, of course, that brings us to a topic that rolls right along the unseen battle. Are demons at work in the world today? This topic is one that many churches don't talk about, but the Bible is clear Demons are real and spiritual warfare is happening all around us. So we'll look at what scripture says about demonic influence possession and how believers can stand firm against the enemy through the power of Christ.
Speaker 1:Next, what about the Bible? Can we trust the Bible? We'll talk about history, prophecy and proof. The Bible is the most scrutinized book in history. The Bible is the most scrutinized book in history. Some say it's just a collection of myths, while others believe it's the divinely inspired word of God. So how can we know? Well, in this episode we will explore the historical accuracy of scripture, fulfilled prophecy and the evidence that sets the Bible apart from any other book.
Speaker 1:Another conversation that we're going to have is what does it mean to be a Christian In a world where the word Christianity can mean different things to different people. It's important to go back to the basics. What does it truly mean to follow Christ? Is it about attending church, being a good person or something deeper? We'll break down what the Bible says about salvation, faith and living a life transformed by Jesus. Now let's talk a little bit about why these conversations matter.
Speaker 1:I believe that these are questions every Christian should ask or explore. In today's world, there are so many opinions and voices, conflicting messages. Sometimes we just accept what we've been told without really digging deeper. But Jesus himself calls us to seek, ask and knock. That's from Matthew 7.7. God isn't afraid of our questions. He welcomes them, and when we seek him with all our hearts, he promises that we will find him. Jeremiah 29.13.
Speaker 1:So, whether you've been a Christian for your whole life, you're new to the faith or you're just curious and you are trying to figure it all out right now, this series is for you. My hope is that these episodes spark a deeper desire for you to know God, to know scripture and to grow in your faith. Let's talk about what to expect. Each episode is going to be short. That's why we are calling it Coffee Talk. You can sip your coffee about 10 to be short. That's why we are calling it Coffee Talk. You can sip your coffee about 10 to 15 minutes. Again, it's perfect for listening while you are having your tea or driving to work or going about your day.
Speaker 1:We're going to dive into each topic and look into what the Bible says, explore some of the questions that often come up and at the end, I will leave you with something to think about and maybe even a challenge to take to God in prayer. So, with that said, I invite you to join me on this journey. Let's seek truth together and, if you haven't already, make sure you have subscribed so you don't miss an episode. And if you know someone who would be encouraged by these conversations, please share this with them. I can't wait to dive in with you.
Speaker 1:Our first episode, who is God, will drop next week, so stay tuned. Thank you for tuning in and for being on this journey with us.
